Alicia Keys’ “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” is currently lodged at unlucky #13 on the UK singles chart. In a bid to give the ballad a bit of a boost upward, the engaged and expecting R&B/pop diva appeared on last night’s episode of reality TV competition Britain’s Got Talent (i.e. the show from whence Susan Boyle was sprung) to sing it live. Fans of R&B and soul music will have the opportunity to combine some live entertainment with a break in a European city over the coming months. Alicia Keys, one of the most successful female solo artists in contemporary pop music, will play live gigs in a number of destinations during a short European tour. The performer will arrive on the continent next month for a show at Lisbon’s Atlantic Pavilion on 29 April, before heading to Austria to appear at the outdoor Ischgl Festival on 1 May.

Travellers will also be able to catch up with the tour in Verona (2 May), Marseille (4 May), Berlin (7 May) and Antwerp (15 May). Keys released her first album, Songs in A Minor, in 2001 and enjoyed immediate success, with the record making it to number one in the US and climbing to sixth place in the UK album charts. She recently collaborated with hip hop icon Jay-Z on the song Empire State of Mind, which topped the charts in the US and peaked at number two in the UK.
